Rates & Insurance

Rates
$90 per 45-minute session
Double sessions are available at $150 per 90 minutes.

Couples and Family sessions are $150 per hour.

Insurance
Currently, I only file insurance claims for clients with Medicaid, however my services may be covered, in full or in part, by your health insurance or employee benefit plan.

Why don't I file insurance for my clients?  Well, for several reasons...
First, insurance companies require a diagnosis before they will pay for services.  This means that I have to "label" my clients in a certain way in order to receive payment from the insurance company.  I have been trained to look at the individual and not the diagnosis that has been assigned to them.
Second, even a common diagnosis like "depression" goes into your medical record file with your insurance company.  While that may not matter to you if your company has a large pool of employees, it can affect rates in smaller group coverages. The even harsher reality? Couples relationship issues, parent/child troubles, normal grieving, or "just having a hard time" are all things that are usually NOT covered. Which means that I will have to label at least one of you with a diagnosis just to get your coverage.
Thirdly, if a therapist takes insurance payments, that means that the insurance company also has the right to look at your records at any time during an audit of my records...and they can look at any notes that I have taken as well.
And lastly... I want to spend my time helping you!   I don't want to take time that could be offered to you bogged down in paperwork!
 

So please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

    • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
    • What is my deductible and has it been met?
    • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
    • Is approval required from my primary care physician?
** I will provide an insurance billing receipt for you to file with your insurance carrier.

** Please be aware that my services may be considered "out of network" and your reimbursement of fees will be determined by your insurance policy.

 

Reduced Fee
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.

Payment
Cash, check and all major credit cards accepted for payment.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
